I enjoyed the company culture and company values. The people in my office were welcoming, helpful, and cared about my growth throughout the summer. I really enjoyed having a role that was both technical and interpersonal in which I could learn about engineering concepts in more of a business role such as sales.

Ask many questions to get the most out of your experience. If you don't ask, you don't learn. Asking many questions helped me to gain great connections outside of my assigned team and now I can leverage those connections for future opportunities.

What I liked

The environment at Trane is professional and friendly. My teammates are awesome and scheduling is flexible. Interns are treated as employees and are given responsibilities that look great on a resume. I was given as many hours as I wanted and never worked after 5pm or over the weekend. It's a great opportunity for a hard working student to network and get to know a corporate environment.

What I wish was different

Advice

Branch out. There are employment opportunities in every department that can relate to your major in one way or another, and a lot of work is passed through multiple teams. If you come in with a good attitude and an open mindset, you will make connections and come across unique opportunities.

I was given a lot of opportunities to work on different types of projects and learn more about topics that I didn't have experience working in before starting. Everyone I worked with was extremely friendly and helpful with anything I needed throughout the co-op.

I wish that I had done a better job of trying to get to know the people I was working with.

Take advantage of any opportunities to learn and participate in new experiences that you are given. Don't be afraid to reach out and ask people for any help or anything new you would like to learn more about or try.

What I liked

My team was amazing, and they gave me a lot of responsibilities. They made me feel like an employee, not just an intern. Also, I was able to relate subject we were learning in classes to the real world. My Trane internship was a great experience and helped me see what private accounting is like.

I don't wish any of it was different. I had a great experience and I learned a lot.

What I liked

I really liked working second shift and all of the opportunities for overtime. I enjoyed that I was able to experience that after taking my operations management class because I able to see the class come alive in my job.

I wish the factory had been more organized. I feel like there are a lot of areas for improvement.
