What I liked
It was a great experience overall - SLF had a wonderful actuarial community and held great events for the actuarial interns. While my role was not specifically actuarial-related (Capital Management department), I learned about many core concepts and how to use common analytical software, as well as I was able to network and meet senior leaders in the company. SLF was also in an ideal location that allowed me to commute from home, but they also provided summer housing for those who lived far away. This opportunity led into a full time job.
