I wish I would have visited an assembly plant while I was there.

Advice

Make sure to explore down town Ann Arbor, they have great events all summer long. Can't miss out on Salsa night!

Advice

Detroit is really fun, but is 45 minutes away from Auburn Hills which is basically the middle of nowhere. There are only a dozen finance interns, so be ready to get friendly with the abundant local-Michigan engineering interns.

My managers gave me the freedom to work on my projects independently and come to them when I needed assistance. This allowed me to grow professionally and figure out solutions to problems on my own.

Hard work really stands out above all else. Even if you don't have hard data at the end of an internship, everyone's impression of you almost matters more.

If you are considering a position in manufacturing, be prepared for a fast paced work environment. A flexible schedule will also be important, as the hours you are required to work are subject to change.
