Biology Research Intern

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

Perhaps the most important thing I learned over the summer was that I genuinely love working in a lab setting. I truly believe it is a priceless skill to be able to form a hypothesis and then be able to turn around and test it empirically. The curiosity and excitement birthed by asking an original question serves as fuel for the work and effort required to yield results. The entire process of lab research from forming a hypothesis to analyzing data is thrilling, electric, and thoroughly fulfilling. I plan to take this newfound love for the lab with me to a graduate program in neuropharmacology with the ultimate goal of researching and discovering new drugs. I hope that someday my work will be able to help individuals who are suffering from debilitating neurodegenerative disorders.

What I wish was different

Nothing.
