Junior PPAP Technician
Job Title: Associate PPAP Technician
Job Summary:
The Junior PPAP Technician will primarily work with the staff to track, manage, and perform annual revalidation PPAPs (annual layouts), and support the PPAP technicians and other departments to perform APQP activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Aid the team to remove barriers and deliver successful PPAPs to our customers.
- Utilize AIAG guidelines and customer-specific requirements to complete PPAPs.
- Perform annual revalidation (annual layout) PPAPs per customer requirements
- Participate in capability studies, and GRR/MSAs.
- Review process flow, control plans, and PFMEAs
- Work closely with manufacturing and quality to assure the successful execution of new orders.
- Coordinate with the New Business Team to track on-time delivery of PPAPs.
- Attend Daily Launch / PPAP priorities meeting to communicate any updates, issues or concerns related to PPAP of newly launched parts and ECN’s
- Gather PPAP part samples daily from both Strongsville, OH facilities
- Submit and follow up and review TSR’s (testing requests) to the CCL lab when applicable.
- Attend weekly CCL laboratory department meetings for updates and communication related to PPAP
- Other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A strong desire to learn a new role in an office environment
- Must be able to identify priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Must possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
- Ability to effectively use/operate measuring equipment such as comparators, digital calipers, micrometers, rulers, and measuring tapes
- Basic Microsoft Office understanding.
- Must have the ability and willingness to learn
- 3-5 years in the Automotive Industry (PPAP or Quality related experience a plus)
Education and Experience:
- Operations history with willingness to learn new skills
- 3-5 years preferred experience in manufacturing.
- Lean/ Six sigma training a plus.
- Press/ machinery experience a plus.
