Position Overview

At River Bend Counseling Center, we believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of healing and that the same is true for the relationships we build with each other. We’re looking for a psychologist (or possibly a doctoral psychology graduate with exceptional training)  who is not only skilled and grounded in their clinical work, but also aligned with our relational, values-driven approach to care.

We are a collaborative team of clinicians who value authenticity, empathy, and professional growth. Our work is deeply rooted in a systemic and growth-oriented model that considers the whole person and their unique experiences. We integrate a lifespan developmental perspective to help clients work through relational difficulties, anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, and identity challenges.

We specialize in supporting those who support others—professionals navigating burnout, high-functioning individuals facing invisible struggles, and anyone seeking to regain balance and clarity in their lives. Our mission is to meet people where they are and walk alongside them with care, curiosity, and respect.

This role is ideal for a clinician who is ready to step into more autonomy, set a schedule that supports their life, and join a community that prioritizes collaboration without micromanagement. As an independent contractor, you’ll have the freedom to shape your caseload while benefiting from the support of a practice that’s committed to ethical care, flexibility, and a welcoming team environment.

Whether your clinical strengths lie in trauma work, couples and family systems, identity development, or another specialized area, we offer space for you to grow, contribute meaningfully, and bring your full self to the work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, couple, or family therapy in person with limited remote sessions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation using SimplePractice.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, colleagues, and leadership regarding scheduling, availability, and client needs.
  • Consult when managing clinical risk or complex situations.
  • Attend weekly group supervision/consultation meetings, support training and supervision of other clinicians.

What We’re Looking For

  • A fully licensed Psychologist, or possibly a pre-licensed psychologist with exceptional training and skills.
  • A commitment to ethical practice and professional integrity.
  • Skill in diagnostics, case conceptualization, and integration of a variety of treatment modalities.
  • We prefer candidates who have some systemic training, incorporating how individuals and systems interface, such as Marital and Family Therapy, Child Developmental Psychopathology, or Industrial Organizational approaches.
  • A grounded, reflective clinician who values depth, growth, and relational work.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong business mindset while staying engaged with the team.
  • Willingness to see at least 30 clients per week, with space to grow as desired.
  • Alignment with our values and approach, including trauma-informed, systemic, and developmental perspectives.
  • Experience working or consulting in business, or background working with families and children, is preferred, even if this is not your current clinical focus.

What We Offer

  • Flexible scheduling, including options for remote sessions.
  • A thoughtfully designed, fully furnished office space in a quiet, professional setting.
  • Administrative and operational support as needed.
  • Respect for your independence with space to grow and thrive.
  • Compensation based on percentage split with mentoring to help ensure profitability. Expected income of $125,000 - $175,000 for full-time, skilled licensed psychologist.
