About the Role:
Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute (MTMHI) is seeking a Psychiatric Social Worker to provide therapeutic support and case management for individuals with complex psychosocial and psychiatric needs. This position involves working directly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop treatment and discharge plans that support long-term well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to address psychological and emotional challenges.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Coordinate aftercare services to ensure continuity of care post-discharge.
- Assist patients in obtaining financial and social resources (e.g., Social Security benefits, trust funds).
- Maintain detailed treatment progress notes and documentation related to patient care.
- Collaborate with courts, community agencies, and families to enhance patient support systems.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
