The City of Vacaville is now accepting applications for the position of Mental Health Coordinator in our Police Department. There is currently one (1) full-time vacancy. This recruitment will also be used to establish an eligibility list to fill future full-time, part-time or limited-term vacancies in this classification that may arise over the next 12 months.
SALARY RANGE: Mental Health Coordinator - $111,446.81 - $135,466.38/Annually

The Mental Health Coordinator serves a key leadership role in planning, coordinating and overseeing the delivery of mental health services across various community-based settings. This position provides both clinical and administrative supervision to professional staff, ensures compliance with applicable regulations and standards and supports program development to address client needs.
Job duties for the role may include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate the Intern Counseling Program
- Recruit, interview, train and supervise counseling interns
- Provide CA BBS clinical supervision to university interns
- Coordinate psycho-educational groups in the schools
- Coordinate parenting education classes/workshops
- Coordinate Family Resource Center services
- Coordinate victim advocacy services on a multi-disciplinary law enforcement team
- Provide direct client services as needed

ABOUT YOU
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical expertise, supervisory experience and a commitment to promoting mental health services to our community. The desirable knowledge, skills and abilities include, but are not limited to:
- Knowledge of principles and practices of clinical supervision and staff development
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and standards governing mental health services (e.g., HIPAA and licensing regulations)
- Knowledge of theories and practices of psychotherapy and case management
- Skills in coordinating services across multidisciplinary teams
- Skills in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
- Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment in complex and high-risk cases
- Ability to analyze data and implement quality improvement measures
- Ability to adapt services and supervision approaches to meet diverse client and staff needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Equivalent to completion of a Master's Degree in social work or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in professional social work, preferably affiliated with a public safety, judicial or school-based agency. Two (2) years post-licensure experience and the BBS required CEU certification to provide clinical supervision are required. Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE
Completion of Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) License, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent California State License is required.
Bilingual (Spanish) capability is desirable.
