Skill Builder

The Staff at East West is partnering with a great organization who is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Skill Builder to join their team.   In this vital role, you will deliver rehabilitative services to children diagnosed with a mental health disorder. Services are provided in the child’s home and/or community, using a hands-on, task-oriented approach to help children achieve their treatment goals, while offering brief respite for caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person, off-site rehabilitative skill-building services in natural settings.
  • Engage children in hands-on, goal-oriented activities aligned with their treatment plans.
  • Document each service interaction with progress notes and record relevant phone contacts.
  • Develop and update treatment and safety plans.
  • Maintain consistent communication with your supervisor to discuss case updates.
  • Attend team meetings, case conferences, training sessions, and clinical supervision.
  • Submit documentation by internal deadlines and comply with all regulatory requirements.
  • Uphold HIPAA standards, ethical guidelines, safety procedures, and compliance.
  • Deliver services using a strength-based, family-driven, culturally responsive approach.
  • Collaborate with clinical treatment providers and attend team meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties that support overall program operations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience in children’s mental health, substance use, foster care, or a related human services field,
    or a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; Medicaid billing experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License required.

Location: Community-based | Schedule: Full-Time (35 hours/week) | Salary Range: $34,000 – $36,000 annually
