Speech Language Pathologist - CF (Victory Learning Center)

Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of an assigned and licensed/certified Speech/Language Pathologist, the CFY candidate would provide speech/language therapy services to individuals as outlined in their Individualized Education Plan or Individual Family Service Plan.  Services are to be provided in accordance with New York State practice act guidelines for Speech/Language Therapy Services, the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association as well as within all regulations and requirements set forth by the organizations with which the company collaborates.  
 
Essential Job Duties:
1. Consistently communicates with CFY Supervisor regarding mandated CFY paperwork, observations and documentation set forth by ASHA, NYS and Erie County
2. Cooperatively accepts feedback and suggestions form CFY Supervisor
3. Reviews all available documentation related to the individuals serviced prior to beginning treatment, including IEP/IFSP, script and prior evaluations if available
4. Performs treatments according to the IEP/IFSP and accepted professional standards and practices
5. Conducts ongoing assessment of individuals during each visit and modifies goals/outcomes/treatment plans accordingly
6. Performs appropriate parent/caregiver education and develops home programs as necessary
7. Works as part of an inter-disciplinary team to enhance treatment program of the individual by utilizing communication with all team members
8. Maintains an accurate schedule
9. Submits all required documentation of visits according to established procedures
10. Communicates with families on a regular basis
11. Keeps abreast of legal responsibilities, professional ethics, standards of practice and agency policies and regulations
12. Discontinues therapy when an  individual no longer meets eligibility requirements
13. Provides own transportation to service locations
14. Maintains confidentiality with HIPPA/FERPA and agency guidelines
15. Maintains professional appearance by following agency dress code
16. Attends department meetings and any other meetings required by supervisor
17. Adheres to and signs Annual Employee Agreement
18. Documents time off and time worked accurately according to agency policies
19. Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by direct supervisor

Qualifications:
Education: Minimum Degree Required: Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology/Communication Disorders
Experience: Minimum Experience Required: Less than one year
Required License/Registration/ Certification: None
 
Physical Requirements: 
The frequent physical demands of the position are sitting, standing, walking, climbing, talking, listening, repetitive motions , lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, balancing, crouching, reaching, handling, and grasping of children.
