The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Information Technology is seeking an Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II) to join the Water Boards Privacy Office.

Duties:
Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State and Regional Board’s Strategic Plan, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments.
The Information Technology Specialist II (Privacy Analyst) provides expertise to Water Boards’ executive team, employees, and contractors in Privacy Program administration. The Privacy Analyst serves as a specialist in privacy performing functions which support and improve Water Boards’ security posture ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Department’s information assets. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with State policy, law, and regulatory requirements. The Privacy Analyst collaborates with cross-functional teams to evaluate privacy risk throughout the data lifecycle, enhance data protection practices, and support the board’s business objectives.
The incumbent will provide services from the Information Security domain.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
