Classroom Support Volunteer
BRIDGES Summer Classroom Support volunteers work closely with the K-12 Programs Coordinator, K-12 Programs Specialist and Lead Teachers to support groups of children/youth in basic literacy and numeracy skill-building and other activities provided by REC. Classroom Support volunteers are responsible for welcoming students in the mornings, supporting literacy and numeracy activities, assisting in the movement of the group to different activity centers throughout the day according to the daily schedule, supporting the group during various inside and outside activities, games, snack and lunch times, and supporting any needs that arise for program efficiency. Field trips will occur on some but not all Thursdays, so if you choose to volunteer on Thursdays, volunteers are required to attend and support with student supervision on field trips. Thursday volunteers are also welcome to serve as drivers in a carpool for other volunteers on field trips.
Training and Evaluation Meetings are required aspects of being a Classroom Support volunteer. Training dates will be Monday, June 9 OR Tuesday, June 10, from 10:00am-2:00pm.
