Job Summary

The cell line development function within process development incorporates aspects of molecular biology (vector design), cell biology (cell culture optimization), assay development, and genetics.  For this position, the intern designs, executes, and authors experiments in cell line development with a focus on optimization of existing techniques  and development of new technologies.

  1. Responsibilities
  • Works on cell line development projects and optimization studies under close supervision. 
  • Manages project workflow to ensure on time delivery: from initial planning, experiment execution, to data evaluation.
  • Performs data analysis and interpretation and assists in strategies for optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Performs job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi Biologics internal policies and guidelines.
  • Completes all required training (i.e. safety, equipment etc.).
  • Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.

 

  1. Qualifications

 

  • Upper-level undergraduates working towards BS/BA and recent graduates, in the life sciences, biochemical engineering, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience in aseptic cell culture.  Experience with CHO cell suspension culture is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Working knowledge of molecular biology cloning techniques is preferred.
  • Strong oral & written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to exhibit effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to take on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
