Economic Development Summer Intern (Town of Holly Springs)

Position: Economic Development Summer Intern

 

Location: Holly Springs, North Carolina
Schedule: Part-Time / 10 weeks (25-30 hours per week)
Start Date: June 2, 2025
Pay Rate: $15.00-$17.00 per hour

Position Overview:
•    We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Economic Development Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in economic development initiatives while contributing to meaningful projects that impact our community positively.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Assist in researching and analyzing economic data, trends, and new opportunities.
•    Support the development and implementation of economic development strategies and initiatives.
•    Collaborate with team members to identify and engage with potential developers, businesses, and stakeholders.
•    Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and proposals for economic development initiatives as well as internal and external stakeholders.
•    Contribute to marketing and outreach efforts to promote economic development programs and initiatives.
•    Assist with workforce development partner support.
•    Assist with event, meeting, and site visit support.
•    Provide general administrative support to the economic development team.

Qualifications:
•    Currently enrolled in a degree program in Economics, Business Administration, Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field.
•    Strong analytical skills.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
•    Student member of the North Carolina Economic Development Association (NCEDA) preferred.
•    Prior experience or coursework in economic development, urban planning, or related fields is a plus.
