Summary

We are seeking a digitally savvy, self-motivated Social Media Intern to take full ownership of social media content creation, scheduling, and performance tracking across multiple SPI brands. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and confident managing brand voice and content from concept to execution in a B2B environment.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to manage a full social media program with support from SPI’s marketing team. You’ll receive mentorship, real-time feedback, and visibility into how social fits into broader digital strategy.

 

What You’ll Work On:

As our Social Media Intern, you’ll take full ownership of SPI’s social content – creating and scheduling original posts, developing a consistent publishing calendar, and monitoring performance across key platforms like LinkedIn and Facebook. You’ll work with brand guidelines to craft messaging that supports broader marketing goals, while exploring new ways to engage and grow our online audience. Throughout the internship, you’ll analyze results, refine your approach, and contribute ideas that drive visibility and connection. Your work will culminate in a final report that offers a data-driven snapshot of our social media presence and your recommendations for the future.


 

Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Research industry activity and trends to inform content development
  • Create, manage, and schedule original content across LinkedIn and Facebook
  • Maintain an organized content calendar and ensure consistent publishing cadence
  • Monitor engagement and generate monthly performance reports including reach, clicks, and top-performing posts
  • Explore additional social media platforms and provide recommendations based on audience alignment and engagement potential
  • Collaborate with other marketing team members to align social with broader campaigns when appropriate
  • Align content with SPI brand guidelines
  • Present a final report highlighting performance insights, key accomplishments, and strategic recommendations for future content and platform development

Key Success Metrics (KPIs):

  • Consistent execution of social media content calendar
  • Growth in impressions, engagement, and followers across assigned platforms
  • Demonstrated initiative and creativity through new ideas, series, or improvements
  • Completion of monthly reporting and insights analysis


 

Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge:

  • Enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience creating social media content (portfolio or examples encouraged)
  • Working knowledge of Canva and Hootsuite
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage a project from start to finish
  • Confident in developing content aligned to distinct brand identities
  • Exceptionally organized, with strong attention to detail 
  • Bonus: Graphic design or video editing skills (Adobe or related)!!

**Pay will be determined based on education level. 

  • Junior - $20/hour
  • Senior - $21/hour
