Stage Technician 1 - Part-Time/Variable (2 Openings)
Seattle Central Campus is looking to hire two Stage Technician 1 in Broadway Performance Hall/Erickson Theatre.
Salary Range for this position is $20.98 -$26.61 hourly (depending on experience).
Opportunity is open until filled, first review of materials will begin April 4th, 2025.
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Stage Manager, the Stage Technician 1 will be responsible for performing a variety of theatrical production duties in support of rentals that take place in the Broadway Performance Hall and Erickson Theatre. Duties include assisting with load in/load outs of rental productions, including hanging and focusing lighting instruments, assisting with light board operation, sound board operation, followspots, fly rail operation, and front-of-house audience management, as well as assisting with general maintenance and repair of stage equipment, fabrics, and decks, including painting.
This position is part-time, working variable hours per week.
This position works 100% of the time on-site.
This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by WFSE.

What you will be working on:
- Assist the supervision of the theatrical productions move in and move out of the theatre; facilitate the safe and efficient load in and load out of the production, paying special attention to the facilitys unique historical aspects.
- Assist in operation of stage equipment; proficient operation of light and sound boards, and followspots, in rehearsal and performance; safe operation of the BPH fly rail.
- Ensure standard safety procedures are followed in operation of lifts, ladders and hand tools as needed.
- Ensure safe operation of hanging and focusing of lighting instruments.
- Assist with audience management including ticket taking, audience services, and emergencies.
- Maintain and service stage equipment; change lamps and lenses with lighting equipment, maintain stage fabric and draperies; maintain scenery and rigging; maintain and paint stage floor .
- Assist with coordination of live theatre positions in other crew areas, including the front-of-house management.
- Train and teach on methods of operation of equipment to new crew members.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
- Two years of experience in theater construction techniques, stage lighting, and theater production;
- OR college and/or technical training in theater production;
- OR equivalent combination education/experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in carpentry, electricity, and the translation of scenic and lighting designs into working elements of production
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform range of physical motions, exerting up to 25 pounds; lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds; standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, kneeling, squatting, and stooping; and traversing up and down stairs. Working at heights on ladders or lifts. Working in noisy and loud environments under time pressure.
