Stewardship Individual Placement
Position Summary
The Stewardship Individual Placement will be responsible for managing the Estes Valley Land Trust's Conservation Easement Monitoring Program. More than 10,000 acres of land are conserved by the land trust and the Stewardship Candidate will be responsible for working with more than 100 volunteers to successfully monitor each conservation easement. Duties include volunteer and data management, filing, site visits and data entry. Additional projects may include co-coordinating an invasive plant workshop and trail building.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Meeting volunteers and ensuring they are completing their monitoring reports correctly.
2. Assisting with data management in Access and Excel and with various GPS apps.
3. Filing reports and working with the Executive Director to prioritize any needed actions.
4. Reporting to a committee and the Board of Directors on the status of the monitoring program.
Marginal Duties
1. Co-coordinate an invasive plant workshop to train volunteers how to manage weeds.
2. Attend conferences and trainings to gain new professional skills and network with others.
3. Assist with land trust events to meet donors and other partners.
Required Qualifications
1. Coursework in natural resource management, ecology or related field.
2. Reliable - ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
3. Ability to self-start, multi-task, manage time and set priorities.
4. Ability to work well with a wide range of people, including EVLT staff and Board members, retirees, volunteers, and landowners.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
6. Quick learner with good customer service skills and flexibility.
7. Good organizational skills, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
8. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Access and Excel and Google products. Ability to easily learn new computer skills as needed.
9. Familiarity with both Apple and Android phones and GPS applications.
10. Must be physically fit and be able to negotiate varied and possibly difficult terrain.
11. Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in natural resource management, ecology or related field.
Hours
40 per week
Living Accommodations
The Estes Valley Land Trust does not offer employee housing but will notify partners about our SCA member's need for housing.
Compensation
Living Allowance: $600/week
Commuting Allowance: $35/week
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
