
Internship - Global Logistics Raw Materials & Finished Goods
Monster Energy’s Global Logistics Department is offering a dynamic learning opportunity for a student interested in supply chain operations, with a focus on raw materials and finished goods logistics. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the transportation, compliance, and supply chain processes involved in managing inbound raw materials and outbound finished product distribution.
The intern will observe and assist logistics professionals in key activities, such as global shipping coordination, freight procurement, and inventory tracking. This internship is structured to provide hands-on learning, but the intern will not be responsible for independently managing tasks or ensuring operational success. The goal is to provide insight into real-world logistics and supply chain management while supporting the team.
Essentials Job Functions:
Exposure to Raw Materials & Finished Goods Logistics
- Learn how raw materials and finished goods are transported and distributed globally.
- Observe and assist with shipment coordination for inbound raw materials and outbound finished products.
- Work alongside Logistics Coordinators and Supply Chain Managers to understand vendor requirements for imports and exports.
- Gain insight into how internal departments collaborate to meet global shipping requirements.
Understanding Compliance & Trade Regulations
- Learn about customs regulations, import/export requirements, and harmonized tariff classifications for raw materials and finished goods.
- Observe interactions with customs brokers to understand how import requirements are verified.
- Become familiar with global INCOTERMS and their impact on supplier agreements.
- Learn how shipping documentation is managed to comply with international trade laws.
Introduction to Freight & Transportation Coordination
- Gain exposure to freight procurement, including how multiple bids are obtained and evaluated.
- Observe how transportation modes (ocean, air, ground) are selected based on cost, time, and efficiency.
- Learn how companies track and update the global shipping log to ensure timely deliveries.
- Shadow team members as they coordinate the payment of customs clearance fees and maintain shipping records for audits
Exploring Process Improvement & Logistics Analytics
- Learn how logistics teams analyze freight costs, transit times, and carrier performance.
- Observe the use of logistics dashboards and analytics tools such as Excel or vendor web portals.
- Gain exposure to inventory management systems used to track raw materials and finished goods.
- Understand how continuous improvement initiatives optimize supply chain efficiency.
Position Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Strong willingness to learn and observe supply chain processes.
- Interest in international trade, logistics, and the apparel industry.
- Good communication and organizational skills to support team members when needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while focusing on learning rather than direct responsibility.
- Familiarity with Excel, Power BI, or Tableau for logistics analytics. (Preferred)
- Basic understanding of ERP systems like SAP or Oracle. (Preferred)
- Interest in customs regulations, trade compliance, and international shipping. (Preferred)
Base Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
