MatchingDonors.com is a proud, award winning, 501(c)(3) volunteer run nonprofit organization based in Canton, Massachusetts.
We need your help by assisting our legal teams and corporate officers with legal issues. Everyone at MatchingDonors.com works tirelessly to help their patients, and donors solve some of the toughest challenges facing people needing organ transplants.
We will consider volunteers who are eligible students who have Optional Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) F-1 Status.
Your Role:
The Volunteer will be working directly with and assisting our legal teams.
The Volunteer will research health care legal issues and summarize conclusions; assist attorneys on a variety of matters including legal issues related to tax-exempt organizations, patient care, academic medical research, and other general corporate matters; review general contracts; and assist with various adversarial matters, including contract disputes, employment litigation and patient and medical staff appeals.
What You Will Be Doing:
· The Volunteer will research health care legal issues and summarize conclusions; assist attorneys on a variety of matters including legal issues related to tax-exempt organizations, patient care, academic medical research, and other general corporate matters
· The Volunteer will be reviewing general contracts; and assisting with various adversarial matters, including contract disputes, employment litigation and patient and medical staff appeals.
· Besides the Volunteer working closely with our legal teams, they will also be working with the CEO and Founder of MatchingDonors.com and our team of volunteers to obtain any information required by our legal teams.
Qualifications:
· Law School or undergraduate or graduate Legal class work are mandatory.
· Strong academic credentials, writing, and interpersonal skills.
· Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
· Flexible, creative, solution oriented
· A champion for our cause, enthusiastic and positive.
· A great communicator, being both articulate and empathetic.
· Organized and attentive to detail.
