
Biological Science Technician - Red River National Wildlife Refuge
One Biological Science Technician (Seasonal Worker, Full-time, 40 hours/week) position is available with the Colorado State University (CSU) Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) Early-career Development Program ECDP) to assist U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Biologists (FWS) with natural resource management activities at Red River National Wildlife Refuge and bat monitoring at Barksdale Air Force Base (AFB). This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and may require overtime and up to one week of overnight travel.
Potential duties may include but not limited to the tasks below:
- Chemical treatment for aquatic invasive species from a boat
- Trapping alligator snapping turtles utilizing hoop nets for a mark and recapture study.
- Collecting biological data from captured alligator snapping turtles
- Acoustic monitoring for tri-colored bats and little brown bats
- Stationary and mobile monitoring of wildlife
- Field-data collection, entry and/or management
- Data analysis and/or mapping using ArcGIS
