Restaurant Supervisor

Summary

Supervises dining room. Ensures guest satisfaction. Ensures all standards are maintained.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures efficient service and guest satisfaction during assigned shifts.
  • Adheres to key control policy.
  • Assists in seating guests during meal times.
  • Identifies any VIP to kitchen staff.
  • Conducts pre-service meetings with staff.
  • Checks dining room for cleanliness.
  • Supervises wait staff side work.
  • Prepares and fills wine/liquor requisition from stock room when necessary.
  • Dispenses wines to wait staff from wine closet and cellar as needed.
  • Ensures room service tray runs are done hourly.
  • Approves officer charges and voids. Ensures bank balances at end of shift.
  • Completes any other duties as requested by manager or director.
  • Maintains menus to standard.
  • Monitors dining room, bar, juice bar and room service.
  • Ensures proper staffing levels.
  • Follows payroll procedures.
  • Prepares special inserts for menus.
  • Follows POS supervisor procedures.
  • Writes daily shift report.
  • Follows liquor laws and policies.
  • Councils and coaches employees.
  • Prepares and presents disciplinary action.
  • Maintains communication with kitchen staff.
  • Trains staff in company and department standards and procedures.
  • Maintains reservations through Resort Suite system.
  • Adheres to all department and company standards.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have good oral and written communications skills to be able to deal with guests and employees. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals. Must be able to juggle tasks.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

The individual must have a minimum of 2-4 years experience with a fine dining establishment or have comparable education and or experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals; must be able to communicate effectively with guests and fellow associates.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment described here is representative of what an associate will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. 

Environment is fast paced with high volume. May be subject to changes in temperature from hot to cold or extreme weather conditions. Proper business attire is required. A clean well-groomed appearance is expected at all times.

 

AVAILABILITY

The employee must be able to work a diversified schedule that may include last minute scheduling. Shift hours will differ in length of time.
