Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or a related field
  • Demonstrated commitment to pursuing Michigan Teaching Certificate
  • Enthusiasm for:

    • Collaborating with mentors and colleagues to improve practices
  • Strong communication skills and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lessons aligned with curriculum standards, assist in planning and adapting materials, utilize educational technology, and monitor student progress under the supervision of a mentor teacher
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment, implement positive behavior management techniques, and maintain classroom routines and procedures
  • Provide academic support individually or in small groups, encourage student participation, and communicate regularly with students and parents to build strong relationships
  • Participate in mentorship programs, attend workshops and training sessions, and develop skills in classroom management, lesson planning, and assessment
  • Support the school's mission and policies, participate in school events and community engagement initiatives, and collaborate with colleagues to foster a positive school culture
