Engineering Ministries International Internship
An EMI Internship is a professional and spiritual discipleship journey that will challenge you to apply your faith, education, and skills to serve the body of Christ worldwide. There are a number of positions available starting in August for the Fall term. Our US office is located in Colorado Springs, but internships are also offered in locations such as Uganda, South Africa, Cambodia, Canada, Mexico, Nicaragua, Senegal, and the Middle East/North Africa region.
EMI Internships are predominantly in fields relating to architecture, civil, and electrical engineering. We typically host internships in architecture, civil engineering, environmental engineering, structural engineering, electrical engineering, R&D, and construction management. Interns will work on a multi-disciplinary design team in a cross-cultural setting to complete master plans, infrastructure, and/or conceptual building designs for a ministry client. Occasionally, we also offer internships in other design fields. Sometimes there are opportunities for internships in graphic design, communications, business, non-profit administration, and other non-construction-related fields as well.
EMI internships are available for students who have completed at least their third year of university studies in their major. Your EMI Internship may qualify for credit hours toward your degree program, as a university design project, or as a Co-Op placement. Often, EMI interns have already completed their undergraduate or graduate degrees, or have been in the professional workplace for a year or two.
EMI Internships are support-based. Interns are coached through raising support to cover the costs of the program including a stipend to help offset their cost of living.
