Your Mission:
As an AmeriCorps Member, you'll be the heartbeat of our mission, training community heroes to prevent, detect, and support those with mental health challenges. You'll bring your energy and expertise to deliver impactful programs like Mental Health First Aid, QPR, or SafeTALK. Ready to make a difference? Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Responsibilities:
- Dive into specialized mental health instructor training (Dates & Location TBD)
- Lead and inspire community certification classes
- Engage local communities and recruit course participants
- Ignite interest through dynamic marketing – press releases, social media, and events
- Monitor and track participant progress with evaluations
- Build and nurture partnerships with mental health agencies
- Be a constant resource and advocate for mental health awareness
- Contribute to grant writing efforts to fund vital mental health initiatives
- Participate in AmeriCorps large service projects and national calls with Health360
- Assist with ongoing mental health community initiatives and regional events
What We’re Looking For:
- Deep personal or professional insight into mental health
- Stellar teaching and training skills, especially with adult learners
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude toward reducing mental health stigma
- Experience facilitating diverse groups and creating engaging learning environments
- Knowledge of local mental health resources and a drive to make a positive impact
Perks and Benefits
Full-time AmeriCorps Position:
- 10 month program
- Commit to 1700 service hours (40 hours/week)
- $21,250 stipend, paid biweekly in 22 installments
- $7,395 Education Award upon completion
- 5 holidays, 2.5 personal days
