Fire Fiscal Analyst, Fiscal Analyst 3 (FA3)

Salary: $4,410.00 - $5,929.00 Monthly
DNR is seeking a Fire Fiscal Analyst 3 to collaborate with other wildland fire fiscal staff within our six regions. In addition, you will be the point of contact for leading and training fellow fiscal analysts in processes and procedures, striving to be lean and streamlined, updating processes when needed, and leading implementation. This position creates and runs complex custom reports, analyzes reports, monitors and tracks payables, including grant and contract payments, codes and assembles payments, and submits expenditure correction requests to Accounts Payable. The position also analyzes, calculates, and prepares invoices for other agencies to recover funds for services provided. This position also works on special projects like performing fire cost analysis, assisting with fiscal year-end close, compiling and submitting DNR’s Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG), and invoicing for wildland fire resources sent out of state.

This position will consistently represent the agency when working with Federal, State, and local partners, and must remain professional and build successful working relationships with internal and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a collaborative effort to create uniform and streamlined fiscal processes for third-party cost recovery, and create and submit associated invoices to other agencies.
- Maintain and update templates used for cost recovery and fire district billings.
- Lead fiscal processes and provide guidance to Region Wildland Fire fiscal staff.
- Complex expenditure analysis, research, and corrections.
- Analyze and process payables and complete federal and state reimbursement requests including, but not limited to, the Fire Management Assistance Grant.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, budgeting, or general business administration to include 18 quarter or 12 semester credits in accounting:
OR a combination of equivalent education and/ or experience. - Strong attention to detail.
