Community Research Collaborative (CRC) Team

Position: Copywriter

Overview:
The Copywriter will be responsible for crafting clear, compelling, and engaging content to support CRC’s research and community outreach efforts. This role involves writing for a variety of formats, including reports, web content, and promotional materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, and proofread content for research reports, web pages, and community engagement materials.
  • Translate complex research findings into clear, engaging, and community-friendly language.
  • Develop social media and blog content to amplify CRC’s mission and impact.
  • Ensure all writing aligns with Duke’s branding, messaging, and accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with designers and researchers to create multi-format storytelling (written, visual, digital).

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing and editing skills with a portfolio of published work.
  • Experience in journalistic, academic, or research-based writing is preferred.
  • Ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with digital content strategy is a plus.
  • Experience in community research, nonprofit work, or social impact storytelling is an advantage.
