The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest intern in the Division of Materials and Waste Management (DMWM) at one of our many locations throughout the State of Ohio.

As a college intern, you'll receive training and orientation on all aspects of our materials and waste management program and assist the technical staff with a variety of program duties. We have multiple positions to choose from:
Scrap Tire Intern
NOTE: THIS POSITION MAY INVOLVE WORKING LONGER THAN 8 HOURS PER DAY.
Provide education and outreach to scrap tire generating businesses on the proper management of scrap tires in an effort to reduce theft, open dumping, and illegal transportation of scrap tires.
Identify scrap tire generating businesses for assigned geographical areas and performs site visits to share resources and information with business representatives.
Assist with the updating of files and tabulating information needed for scrap tire outreach efforts and other administrative reports requested by central office, outside agencies or citizens.
Support the division’s duties and receives training in multiple aspects of office and field activities involved in the solid waste and construction & demolition debris programs.
Engineering Intern
NOTE: THIS POSITION MAY INVOLVE WORKING LONGER THAN 8 HOURS PER DAY.
Participate in Ohio EPA’s College Intern program by assisting the technical staff with routine duties, which will include one or more of the following activities, and receives training in aspects of office and in-the-field activities involved in the materials and waste management program and receives orientation to all program areas.
Under close supervision of an environmental specialist, assist staff by performing data entry and review of 20 years of interface shear strength data.
Assist in ground water sampling and gas sampling, as needed.
Assist with the updating of files and tabulating information needed for administrative reports requested by division management, outside agencies, or citizens.
