Food/Beverage Operations

The Fremont Moo has an internship opportunity for a current college level student looking to gain experience for a career in sports or food and beverage industry upon graduation. Applicants should be studying a subject in a relevant field such as Hospitality and Culinary Arts Management, Food and Beverage Management, Sport Management, Event Management, Business, Marketing, and Sales

This experience as a food and beverage intern will allow you to gain and expand knowledge in the different aspects of the food and beverage industry including service, inventory management, catering, hospitality, menu selection, and food preparation. In this position, you will learn how to set up, staff, and coordinate food and beverage for all Moo games/functions. You will also learn and gain an understanding of the planning and coordination process of baseball food and beverage operations along with other events .General Team Responsibilities:

  • Expected to be available for all Fremont Moo home games.
  • Intern will be expected to report to the office on home game days 5 hours prior to first pitch.
  • Requires ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
  • If there is not a game on a weekday, you will be expected to attend office hours each day.

- Supervise production of food products in large quantities in a quick and efficient manner.

- Maintain food safety and sanitation including complying with all federal, state, and local regulations

-Operate food preparation equipment.

- Assist in improving food quality and consistency

- Brainstorm new ideas for recipes and food/beverage offerings

-Maintain accurate food and beverage inventories

- Along with Moo management, supervise and oversee game day staff

-Prepare daily prep sheets

-Plan, implement, and manage food and beverage system and procedures that positively impact the Moo

-Research and meet with vendors for ordering, stocking stands, and organizing an efficient food and beverage service operation

-Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

About the Organization: The Fremont Moo began playing in 2019. Each team in the league operates similar to a professional minor league team, providing players an opportunity to play under the same conditions using wooden bats, minor league specification baseballs, experiencing overnight road trips, and playing nightly. The environment for fans is family - friendly and community focused.

The Fremont Moo have won 2 league championships in the first 5 seasons of existence. The Fremont Moo have a mission to use FUN and affordable entertainment provided by the Moo organization as a vehicle to make a positive difference in the lives of our families, businesses, players, and communities we serve.

Moo Baseball is more than just a baseball game. In fact, many of our fans don’t attend our games just for the baseball game. They come for the fun promotions, theme nights, daily specials, food/drinks with friends, family, or colleagues, and overall entertainment value the Moo and our business partners provide.

Compensation: All interns will receive a monthly stipend to assist with travel and living expenses. Housing may be available with a host family. All interns receive free food, tickets, and many more perks.

Credit: College credit towards a major, minor or general elective may be earned and is desired. There are educational and work components to this position.
