Bilingual Therapist

 

Summary of Position

House of Ruth Maryland is the most comprehensive intimate partner violence agency in the state. Our Clinical Counseling Program combines evidence-based knowledge with a welcoming and collaborative environment that supports both staff and the survivors we serve. An HRM Therapist provides direct therapeutic services to primary and secondary survivors of intimate partner violence. The Therapist also advocates for client’s needs with other HRM programs and community agencies where appropriate and relevant to the client’s treatment. The Therapist participates as part of a team of staff who address trauma, mental health and other clinical issues participants may present. Therapy is provided in person and through telehealth visits.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides one-on-one counseling for adult victims and child witnesses of intimate partner violence and their families, in crisis and on an ongoing basis, in person and through our telehealth platform.
  • Provides comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessments for victims/survivors of intimate partner violence.
  • Facilitates support and psychoeducational groups for youth and adults.
  • Collaborates with other HRM staff and programs via staff meetings, case review, and reflective supervision groups.
  • Participates in regularly scheduled one on one supervision with supervisor
  • Responsible for meeting individual, program and agency goals/targets including but not limited to timely, ethical and trauma informed service provision and documentation.
  • In collaboration with the Managing Therapist the Child and Family Therapist ensures that the goals, objectives, and quality of services are consistent with the agency mission and strategic plan.
  • Plans schedule of therapeutic appointments within established timeframes.
  • Represents the program and agency with area service providers.
  • Recommends and implements client treatment plans
  • Supports program integrity within the agency and in the community.

Pay: $60,000 - $64,000

 

Experience, Education, Certifications/Licenses

  • Master’s Degree
  • Licensed Social Worker, Professional Counselor or Psychologist.
  • One (1) year related experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. Familiarity with Latino/a/x culture and community. Ability to provide training and education in Spanish and English.
  • Knowledgeable about therapeutic interventions with victims of trauma, their children, and family systems.
  • Knowledgeable about the dynamics of intimate partner violence.
  • Demonstrated competence with computer systems including MS Office Suite and electronic records software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and collaboratively with peers and community partners.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
