2025 SCDNR Coastal Conservation Summer Internship
Description: The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) Marine Resources Division seeks outgoing, motivated individuals from South Carolina to participate in a paid summer internship. SCDNR strives to build and sustain an inclusive environment where candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. These interns will be provided with hands on experience in communication, laboratory and field data collection practices, and environmental education. They will have the ability to work with marketing, biological research, event planning, and teaching.
Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 18 years old with no maximum age limit. Applicants should be interested in pursuing a career in coastal conservation or a closely related field. Applicants must be able to swim and be able to work outside in adverse outdoor environments (hot, muddy, buggy environments). They will also need the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and to work independently with little supervision.

Location: At the SCDNR Marine Resources Division campus in Charleston, South Carolina. Housing options are NOT available.
Compensation: Interns will be paid $12/hour and will work full-time (30+ hours/week). Employees will have access to a vehicle that will be used for work-related travel ONLY. A personal vehicle will be required for commuting and personal transportation.
Duration: 8 weeks, June 2-July 31, 2025
