Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our team. As an OTA, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to implement individualized therapy programs that promote the physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being of our patients. You will play an essential role in helping individuals regain independence in daily living activities and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized therapy plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Administer therapeutic activities designed to improve patients' motor skills, cognitive function, and ability to perform daily activities.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, noting changes in condition and response to therapy.
  • Assist with assessments and evaluations of patient needs and progress under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families about therapeutic exercises, safety strategies, and techniques to improve daily functioning.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with scheduling therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care and achieve therapy goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, company policies, and best practice standards.
  • Encourage patient motivation, supporting their physical, mental, and emotional rehabilitation.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance from an accredited program.
  • Current Occupational Therapy Assistant License in the state.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage patients and work collaboratively with staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality care.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-centered approach to therapy.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is a plus.
