Wildland Fire Management Specialist

Kulshan Module Superintendent/Wildland Fire Management Specialist (WFMS)

Salary: $4,299.00 - $5,783.00 Monthly

Responsibilities:
This position reports to the Fire Management Officer (FMO), and works under the guidance of state regulations, agency policies and procedures, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and agency strategic plans. Assists in the management, coordination, planning, and implementation of Fire Control, Emergency Fire Suppression, and Fire Regulation & Protection Assistance programs in parts of Whatcom and Skagit Counties within the Northwest Region. This position will be responsible for the Kulshan Hand Crew Module and directly supervise 1 crew foreman.

Required Qualifications: 
 

  • Wildland fire suppression experience.
  • Certified as a NWCG Single Resource Boss – Crew Boss or the ability to obtain certification within 12 months.
  • Experience in agreement and contract negotiations.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Certified as a NWCG Incident Commander Type 5.
  • Experience with employee empowerment.
  • Skills in team cohesion.
