Home Supervisor (Full-Time - 2nd. Shift)

Harbor House Ministries needs compassionate, caring people to ensure that our residents live life to the fullest. We serve adults with multiple, severe disabilities. Our care ratios are low: one staff member assists 2 or 3 residents per shift. Your nurturing and team-oriented skills will be used as you come alongside our residents to assist at home in the caretaking tasks of daily life including feeding, showering, grooming, dressing and toileting AND in the outlying community as you accompany them on errands and activities.

We are hiring for a 2nd. Shift, Full-Time Home Supervisor

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

  • Supervise subordinate staff including oversight of staff's job performance, written evaluations of direct report staff, oversight of Lead Aides shift management, counseling and documentation as needed for subordinate staff, and other supervisory tasks as necessary. 
  • Provide personal hygiene to residents including assistance with teeth brushing, peri care, showering and bathing, as well as other personal hygiene needs. 
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed.   
  • Interaction with residents, families and staff including resident care conferences, staff meetings, informal interaction with staff, informal interaction with residents and their families and other interaction as necessary.  
  • Coordination of services with outside care-providers and resident advocacy agencies. May need to drive resident to an appointment.  
  • Planning functions as needed for excellent operation. Gather information and interact with staff.  
  • Assist with spiritual care plans including accompanying to church, praying before meals/bedtime, participating in devotions etc. 
  • Oversight of compliance with all Harbor House Ministries policies and licensing standards including direct care, community living supports, facilities and fire safety. 
  • Performs Lead Aide and/or Resident Aide duties when needed.  
  • Ensure excellent standards of cleanliness are maintained in home. Inspect and oversee work of staff as necessary to do so.  
  • Promote meaningful activities through interaction with community and church groups, and in- house activities with residents and staff.  
  • Ensure adequate training and orientation of new employees as well as on-going training for staff.  
  • Participate in Clinical Management Team Meetings and other company-wide teams as assigned by Executive Director.  
  • Interact professionally and courteously with residents, family, staff, visitors and the public.  
  • Sort and distribute resident monthly supplies.  
  • Regular predictable attendance is required.  
  • Computer skills are essential for the job of doing e-charting. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Minimum two years' experience in supervising subordinate staff  
  • College degree preferred  
  • Able to interact effectively with adults with severe disabilities, their families and staff  
  • Dresses and behaves in a professional manner  
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team  
  • Able to work flexible hours  
  • Must have driver's license and car insurance. 

 

PAY RATE: 

  • $20.00/hour or higher, depending on experience 

 

SHIFT: 

  • 2nd. (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM)

SCHEDULE: (This is a year-round position. No seasonal work is available.) 

  • Train for 6 months working holidays (Work half of the major holidays that are recognized by Harbor House Ministries), then be “On-Call.” 
  • Train for 6 months working weekends (Every other), then be “On-Call.” 
  • May be needed for additional events in addition to normal schedule 
  • Incentive pay for shifts picked up beyond your scheduled hours
