Logistics Planner

Primary Function:

Daily plan the backhauls regional (NC, SC & VA) for all Cargo Transporter’s power units in an efficient and cost effective manner. 

 

Essential Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and analyzes daily/weekly order requirements into planning of loads and routes
  • Work to ensure timely pick up and delivery of all loads
  • Daily monitoring of empty mile report for inaccuracies
  • Monitor late deliveries and communicate any and all issues to customers
  • Reduce empty miles fleet wide whenever possible
  • Work collaboratively with Fleet Leaders and Customer Service to ensure customer needs are met
  • Assist management with special projects

 

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 year degree required. Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in the trucking industry preferred. 
  • Ability to think analytically.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work environments.     
  • Knowledge of AS-400 computer system and internet based routing software.
