Administrative Assistant II
The City of Naperville’s Public Works Department is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant II to provide administrative and clerical support to the Administration and Operations Divisions. This position works as part of a team of Administrative Assistants supporting all the Divisions of Public Works. This Administrative Team is vital to our mission of providing outstanding customer service to internal and external customers and to other City departments.
The Administrative Assistant II, under general supervision, provides moderately complex administrative, secretarial, and clerical support. Among administrative support titles, the Administrative Assistant II distinguishes itself by exercising a moderate degree of creativity and latitude in accomplishing the majority of its assigned tasks, as opposed to performing generally routine or repetitive administrative tasks.
The full pay range for this position is $22.8820 - $34.9333/hour commensurate with credentials and experience.
Duties
- Prepares correspondence, memos, reports, lists, minutes, and other documents as directed.
- Maintains the department head’s calendar and schedules events and activities for division staff, including travel accommodations, training, and interviews.
- Answers and directs phone calls. Responds to general inquiries.
- Enters, retrieves, and maintains electronic data and files.
- Creates and maintains physical files.
- Performs research and project work of moderate complexity, as assigned.
- Locates and retrieves information from City records, electronic or physical, as requested by customers or staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- One to three years of experience in a comparable capacity.
- A valid State of Illinois Class D driver’s license.
Preferred
- An Associate’s Degree.
