Supervising Community Service Officer Addictions-Division of Mental Health & Addiction Services

Supervising Community Service Officer Addictions, County of Hudson, Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Mental Health &Addiction Services. 

 

  • Assist in needs assessment activities, including the creation of survey tools, facilitation of focus groups, and analysis of data.
  • Provide information and resources to service providers, individuals and families on an as-needed basis to ensure those seeking services are linked with them and those individuals or families seeking services understand the system of care and available options. 
  • Conduct presentations on mental health as needed throughout the County in conjunction with Division staff when available. 
  • Participate in all activities related to the STARS Mobile Outreach Vehicle 
  • Assist with Narcan distribution as needed.
  • Monitor and track monthly Level of Service reports and monthly Vouchers for all Division funded contracts and coordinating with the providers 
  • Assist in the facilitation of all Division meetings as needed 
  • Assist with Division processes including, but not limited to, RFPs, contracts, and monitoring site visits.

 

EDUCATION: 

 

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree. 
  • A Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology or Counseling may be substituted for one year of administrative experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Four (4) years of administrative experience in an agency operating drug and or alcohol use programs
  • One (1) year experience serving in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience working directly with individuals and families with mental health and addiction challenges.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the behavioral health system of care.
  • Exceptional writing and communications skills and attention to detail required.
  • Public speaking experience preferred.
  • Experience with program evaluation and needs assessment preferred.
  • Bi-lingual candidate preferred.

 

NOTE:  A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline appropriate to the position may be substituted for the experience requirement indicated above.
