Investment Officer
The Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA), with its main office located at 1260 Louisville Road, Frankfort, KY and its investment office located in Louisville, KY, is seeking an Investment Officer who will report to the Executive Director, Office of Investments (CIO). KPPA invests and manages over $28 billion from three 401a governmental qualified retirement trusts (“Systems”) and one IRC 115 insurance trust (broken down into and invested as 5 pension and 5 insurance funds). All funds are broadly diversified across investments in public and private securities and investment vehicles. Currently, approximately 70% of the assets are managed by outside investment management firms with the balance managed in house.
The Systems have a membership of approximately 433,000 active, retired, and deferred members and beneficiaries, including state employees, state police officers, city and county employees, as well as non-teaching staff of local school boards and regional universities.
The Investment Officer, Private Equity, primarily helps the CIO and Deputy CIO manage KPPA’s private equity investments and external manager relationships. The Investment Officer will lead the construction, sourcing, recommended selection, execution, and oversight of KPPA’s private equity portfolio. Key functions will include sourcing investment opportunities, performing due diligence, and developing recommendations for private equity funds, co-investments, and secondary transactions. The position will also participate in oversight of the entirety of the Systems’ investments. The Position has no direct reports but may oversee investment staff for special projects or assignments as assigned by the CIO or Deputy CIO.

Minimum Requirements
Ten years of progressively responsible institutional investment management experience required, within the Alternative Investments space preferably.
Advanced degree (MBA, Master of Finance, etc.) or CFA, CAIA required.
