The Division of Communicable Disease Control (DCDC) works to promptly identify, prevent, and control infectious diseases that pose a threat to public health, including emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, vaccine-preventable agents, bacterial toxins, bioterrorism, and pandemics.

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by planning, organizing, and overseeing the budgeting activities in the Division of Communicable Disease Control (DCDC) – Communicable Disease Emergency Response Branch (CDER) Administrative Unit.  

The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) acts as a fiscal subject matter expert on budget development, forecasting, projections, monitoring of expenditures, contracts, purchase orders and grants for the division and its branches. Identifies and recommends adjustments in budget line items and/or spending to allow funding for special activities, purchases, or to provide for mandated budgetary changes. Makes recommendations on expenditures and/or redirection of resources to assure financial integrity of programs. Provides leadership for the administrative processes, including fiscal audits, workflow, and other activities as necessary.
