Accounting Intern

Summary of Responsibilities & Key Skills

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our accounting team. This internship offers hands-on experience in accounting operations and financial processes, providing a solid foundation for a career in accounting. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, organized, and has a strong understanding of basic accounting principles. Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills are essential skills for this position. The Accounting Intern should have effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently or in a team.

Detailed Responsibilities

The duties of the Accounting Intern will vary, but may include:

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Support the accounts payable function by processing invoices, tracking payments, and reconciling accounts.
• Help with monthly and quarterly financial close processes.
• Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry and file organization, to support the accounting team.
• Research and analyze GAAP guidance to support financial decision-making, as needed.
• Collaborate with various departments on projects, research, and initiatives to support financial analysis and process improvements.
• Additional tasks and projects as assigned by management.


Experience and Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP is a plus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite) is a plus.
• Prior internship or coursework in accounting or finance is beneficial but not required.
