Position Overview

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire an Inhalation Therapist for the Shapiro Center located in Kankakee, Illinois to administer specialized inhalation, therapeutic treatments prescribed by attending physician. Maintains constant watch over individuals undergoing treatment and takes precautionary steps at own initiative in case of adverse reactions to prescribed treatment. Maintains inhalation therapy equipment and reports any failure of equipment and takes measures for its immediate repair.  Prepares, presents training and instructs training to direct care staff on the technical function of therapy and specialized equipment utilized. Essential Functions

• Administers specialized inhalation therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending physician.
• Prepares, presents training and instructs training to direct care staff on the technical function of therapy and specialized equipment utilized.
• Reviews and evaluates results therapy given and records data regarding therapy.
• Maintains inhalation therapy equipment and reports any failure of equipment and takes measures for its immediate repair.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires graduation from an approved school for 
• inhalation therapy.
