Key Responsibilities:
- Capital Improvement Program Support: Assist in the preparation and management of the Parks Department's Capital Improvement Program, ensuring efficient long-term planning for park project development.
- Budget Analysis & Development: Play a crucial role in analyzing historical budget data and developing annual operating budgets, providing strategic insights.
- Strategic Planning Coordination: Collaborate with departmental leaders to set and track strategic goals, ensuring alignment with the city’s overarching strategic plan.
- Policy Development & Analysis: Review, develop, and update departmental policies and procedures, drawing comparisons with best practices from other communities.
- Project Management: Provide data-driven analysis on special projects, offering recommendations to improve departmental efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Public Administration or closely related field.
- Two or more years of professional experience in public administration or completion of the City of Oshkosh Management Assistant program.
- Data & Software Expertise: Mastery in data collection, analysis, financial accounting, and using various software platforms for data management and visualization.
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Strong ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, collaborate across divisions, handle confidential information, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Project Management & Strategic Thinking: Proven skill in coordinating and managing complex projects, meeting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and contributing innovative insights into public administration and policy strategies.
- Valid Driver’s License.
