The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest senior financial analyst in the Division of Environmental and Financial Assistance (DEFA), working at our Central Office in downtown Columbus, Ohio.
You are exactly who we need!
As a senior financial analyst in DEFA, you will manage financial aspects related to the State Revolving Fund (SRF) grants and various grants through the U.S. EPA for the Agency. You will assist in assembling, reviewing, and analyzing documents for grant applications prior to their submittal, as well as establishing the fiscal monitoring of approved grants to ensure quality assurance. As these grants are processed and allocated, you will take part in auditing activities, and preparing, updating, and reviewing grant reports.
For these grants, you will need to keep up to date on related federal regulations, ensuring compliance with U. S. EPA and federal grant guidelines, terms, and conditions. You will facilitate the closeout process of completed grants, including submitting final reports and reconciling funds.
You’ll design and build custom financial tools and reports in various systems, as well as interpreting reports using specialized software such as Excel and Tableau. You’ll serve as a liaison to troubleshoot any financial issues and help coordinate the publication of necessary public notices and hearings. Lastly, you’ll assist with the implementation of new funding opportunities, such as EPA grants, H2Ohio funds, and new federal infrastructure funding.
