Sacramento Program Manager

Under the general direction of the Northern District Deputy the incumbent will function as the Program Manager for the Sacramento Office in the Northern District. The incumbent will direct and have charge of the work plans, goals, and objectives for the Division’s Northern District Sacramento office. The position supervises the oil and gas drilling and production, freshwater protection, enhanced recovery, underground injection control, production tank and pipeline integrity, underground storage facilities, greenhouse gas mitigation, and the environmental protection programs in the Sacramento office. The position will advance CalGEM’s mission to protect public health, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and supporting the transition to a carbon neutral economy by 2045.

In accordance with CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.

This position is subject to the Department of Conservation’s Conflict of Interest code. Candidates may be precluded from employment with the department if they, or their spouse, hold interests in oil, gas, or geothermal entities.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet Minimum Qualifications, the applicant will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Working Conditions

This position is located in Sacramento and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees must reside in California and be able to satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely. The hybrid telework schedule will allow for up to three days of remote work per week depending on department needs.

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview but must show proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
