The City of Kettering’s Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as the Senior and Adult Program Supervisor. This Regular Full-Time position plays a key role in managing the daily operations of the Charles I. Lathrem Senior Center under the guidance of the Recreation Manager. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the Senior and Adult Program Team, planning and executing engaging programs, and supervising part-time and contractual staff.

This position requires initiative, professional judgment, and a commitment to excellence in program delivery and team leadership.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation or a related field, with at least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that equips you to fulfill the role's responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success in providing outstanding customer service to senior populations.
  • Strong organizational and staff supervisory skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees, City officials, and the public.
  • Proven experience in budget preparation and management.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities are highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in recreation program development and management is preferred.
  • Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) designation is a plus.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required upon appointment (if not already certified).
