Jesuit Volunteer
Unlike a typical job application, you won’t apply for a particular role as a Jesuit Volunteer (JV). Instead, you will enter an interview process where we learn about your strengths and interests. With more than 100 positions available each year across 5 states, we get to know you and match you with an agency in a particular locale. A Jesuit Volunteer year is a unique opportunity to gain skills, explore your purpose, take a year before more education, or kick start a future career in non-profits.
Keep in mind that this is a year of service program, so compensation differs from a typical job. All JVs receive food and housing, basic medical insurance and additional health costs, commuter expenses (e.g., bike, bus pass), and a monthly stipend of $100. Read about all the support you will receive here. Distinct from an entry-level job, our program also provides the opportunity to live in community, reflect on your purpose through retreats, and in locale support.
Most Jesuit Volunteer positions with JVC Northwest are also AmeriCorps positions. AmeriCorps Members receive an education award of more than $7000 towards student loans or future tuition upon completion of their service term.
