Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our educational team at Fredericksburg Christian School. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a science-field, and an experience background in education, with the ability to inspire and engage students in their learning journey. This position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and Christian learning environment.

Requirements

  • Committed Christian with a close personal walk with the Lord and the Christian character qualities to serve as a role model for young people
  • Regular in attendance at an evangelical Protestant church
  • Commitment to a Biblical lifestyle
  • Strong commitment to Christian education
  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in related field, including education courses
  • Committed to obtaining and keeping ACSI or state certification current according to FCS guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Places God's Word in a central position in daily instruction, integrating its principles throughout the day
  • Prays regularly for each child and presents the Gospel message and other biblical instruction with sensitivity and love; faithfully follows the philosophy and Bible guidelines of the schoolDevelop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
  • Assess student progress through various evaluation methods and provide constructive feedback.
  • Create a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration. Trains students in habits and routines which are part of the FCS philosophy; maintains excellent student conduct and attention.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance instructional strategies and curriculum development. Becomes very familiar with yearly curriculum objectives and participates actively in curriculum writing and revising.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments.
  • Provide tutoring support to students needing additional assistance outside of regular class hours.
  • Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities.
