Senior Pricing Manager

The Senior Pricing Manager is responsible for developing pricing and cost estimates for large, complex, strategic procurements, performing detailed costs analysis, creating basis of estimates, and developing cost volumes. This position will collaborate with technical researchers, program managers, proposal teams, and Institute leaders to evaluate the competitive landscape, mitigate financial risk, and develop sound pricing strategies. The Senior Pricing Manager will analyze industry trends, resources costs, and the competitive landscape to conduct thorough analysis, identifying areas of opportunities and risk mitigation strategies. This position will provide estimating and pricing guidance and mentorship to support team performance and successful program execution. The Senior Pricing Manager will monitor pricing performance for competitiveness and business performance and escalate potential issues and areas of risk. This position will support internal and external audits, proposal audit file maintenance, and play a significant role in the estimating system audit. This position will work in collaboration with the Contracts and Grants Office to manage all pricing templates to ensure ease of use, compliance, and effectiveness.


Minimum Qualifications

P3 Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of six years of experience OR a master’s degree plus a minimum of five years of experience is required
• Three years of experience pricing cost plus fixed fee, firm fixed price, and time and materials contracts for the federal government
• Experience pricing research and development efforts
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with all aspects of price and cost proposal preparation, including business risks, pricing strategies, compliance and estimating practices for the US government
• Experience with developing or delivering price strategy presentations or analyses to executives and key decision makers
• Extensive data analytical skills, including metrics, cost estimates, profitability, and risk
• Ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally within a matrixed environment and diverse constituents, including with senior executives, business development, contracts, procurement, finance, and other key stakeholders
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and intermediate experience with Microsoft Word
• Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen

P4 Minimum Requirements:
A P4 must meet all P3 minimum qualifications in addition to the qualifications listed below:
• Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of ten years of experience; OR a master’s plus a minimum of nine years of experience is required
• Five years of experience with all aspects of price and cost proposal preparation, including business risks, pricing strategies, compliance and estimating practices for the US government


Preferred Qualifications

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Experience pricing cost plus fixed fee, firm fixed price, and time and materials contracts with contract values over $100M for the federal government
• Expert skills in analysis tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, or comparable tools
• Experience with complex software pricing tools
• Experience with ERI, BLS, or other salary survey tools
• Audit experience
• Active security clearance
