Cooley Law School, with locations in Michigan and Florida, seeks a Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations.  This position is located at the Lansing, MI campus.

The Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations is responsible for planning, managing and implementing activities that increase, diversify and sustain philanthropic and alumni support for Cooley Law School.  The Director will identify, develop and foster relationships with all individual and organizational donors, including the Law School’s 20,0000+ alumni; forecast, research and write an annual fundraising plan to meet the Law School’s identified needs; coordinate special campaigns and initiatives.  The Director will work closely with the President and Dean, Senior Vice President, and the board of directors to ensure all objectives in these areas are realized.  Frequent travel required.

Successful candidates will possess all or many of the following qualifications and/or skills: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree or higher preferred; CFRE credential preferred; a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in development, community outreach and alumni relations for a nonprofit organization or institution of higher education, serving in progressively responsible positions; 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment; strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds; the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative, and to manage multiple tasks and projects at one time.
