Student Research Assistant

Avocet Polymer Technologies (www.avocetcorp.com) is a biotechnology company with drugs and medical devices on the market and others in the pipeline. Also, Avocet is affiliated with Maroon Biotech Corp (www.https://maroonbiotech.com) and share research space. Avocet is recruiting a student in biochemistry, chemical engineering or chemistry who has experience in basic chemical analysis such as UV/VIS, HPLC, FT-IR and GPC spectroscopy. Experience on polymer synthesis and purification would also be valuable. There is also an opportunity for involvement in molecular dynamic computational modeling of protein-polymer interactions. We are developing a new class of therapeutics that we call synthetic chaperones to treat trauma victims.

Capable of routine equipment maintenance, excellent writing skills, experience with research grant writing, and glycosaminoglycans structure and analysis skills are preferred. 

Avocet is located in Chicago near Pulaski and I-55. It is served by public transportation. Avocet has a parking lot on the premises.
