Evaluation and Learning Intern

About the Department:

The Office of Evaluation and Learning addresses measurement, evaluation, and learning needs. We support organizational change, emergent strategies, and effective grantcraft. We believe that values-driven, informed decision-making leads to useful insights, more effective stewardship of the Foundation’s resources, and meaningful results.

 

About the Internship:

The summer intern in the Evaluation and Learning Office will be engaged in various activities and projects to gain practical experience in evaluation and learning.  Responsibilities will include project management, supporting learning spaces, facilitation and writing support and handling specific tasks associated with supporting staff data and learning requests.  The summer intern will attend biweekly team meetings and relevant Foundation events. They will also exercise flexibility in contributing to tasks that arise and smaller projects that will contribute to their professional development.

Active projects during the summer will include planning and preparation for our General Discourse and learning spaces. This may involve research, presentation preparation, internal teamwork, meetings with external partners, and learning session planning and management.  As a summer intern, there will also be opportunities to shadow different staff members to understand various roles and responsibilities.

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is a student in an undergraduate program, possibly in a nonprofit management, social sciences, public health, or public policy program. The successful applicant will have interest in evaluation, learning, data-informed decision making, data visualization, analysis, and research, The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, internet and social media fluency. The intern will have the flexibility to flourish with multiple assignments and an enthusiasm for learning and the work of evaluation and learning.
